The Purpose of the Role

The Account Executive is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of strategies to drive sales and profitability growth within the territory, account management, the maintenance of strong business relationships with our clients and promoting Clover’s brand awareness. 

This role requires the individual to achieve agreed sales revenue and gross margin targets in-line with company budgets. 

Robust B2B sales skills and a sound understanding of contemporary marketing practices are critical for success within this role. The individual must be professional at all times and demonstrate a strong focus on strategic planning and communication along with a proven ability to negotiate and influence sales outcomes to fulfil business objectives. 

The Account Executive is required to research and analyse market trends and foster strong industry stakeholder relationships.

Account Executives work closely with our internal state management team, client service team, administrative team, other account executives, logistics team and product managers.

Regular interaction is required with a range of external stakeholders including our clients, major utilities, consultants, designers, specialist third party vendors, project specific stakeholders and others.

Responsibilities; 

  • The Account Executive is responsible for growing Clover’s sales revenue and profitability within the territory, developing our client base and promoting brand and product awareness through the implementation of the following responsibilities;
  • Researching, developing and implementing profitable and effective sales strategies and plans in accordance with company guidelines;
  • Achieving agreed sales revenue and gross margin targets within the territory in-line with monthly and annual budgets as set by the company and management;
  • Employing a consultative solution based selling approach to maximise sales and profitability outcomes through an in-depth knowledge of the company products, services and unique value proposition;
  • Building and nurturing strong long-term business relationships with new and existing clients, designers, asset owners and stakeholders;
  • Identifying current and future business opportunities and maintaining a register to regularly update management;
  • Account management duties for nominated clients within the territory including
  •  - Supplying accurate quotations and negotiating profitable sales outcomes/terms in accordance with company requirements; 
  •  - Providing timely product/availability/order status information to clients;
  •  - Establishing client price files;
  •  - Ensuring 100% customer satisfaction; 
  •  - Managing client project deliveries;
  • Providing technical support to stakeholders and influencing project design outcomes, ultimately resulting in the specification and use of exclusive Clover products;
  • Planning, preparing and delivering effective sales presentations to clients and other stakeholders; 
  • Developing business proposals and effective communications that speak to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives;
  • Following industry trends and providing management with regular market intelligence and feedback regarding business performance within the territory;
  • Developing and maintaining a regular detailed reporting system demonstrating your activity and performance;
  • Meeting all company work health and safety guidelines;
  • Other agreed ad-hoc tasks as required by the company.
  • Creating awareness of the Clover brand, our products and unique value proposition within the territory;
  • Attend and participate in industry trade shows, tender meetings and networking events;
  • Introducing new products and providing training to clients as required;

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

The Account Executive role requires experience and skills in the following areas;

  • Demonstrated ability in consistently exceeding B2B sales revenue and profitability targets within the Australian water industry;
  • Extensive knowledge of the Australian water infrastructure market;
  • Relationships with key industry stakeholders;
  • Experience with planning, design and implementation of business development strategies;
  • Effective negotiation skills and an ability to close deals;
  • High-level interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Highly structured and organised approach to planning work and managing time;
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills;
  • Strong Microsoft suite skills required.
  • Advanced planning, organisational and time management skills;
  • Proven ability to influence client buying decisions;
