About the position

Due to internal movements in our business, we are seeking a Trainee MPU Operator to work a lifestyle (5/4 4/5 5/5) day shift only roster at our Meandu mine site.

Reporting to the site supervisor, you will be responsible for gaining an understanding of and become proficient in all aspects of the operation of our Mobile Processing Units, as well as in associated tasks within the explosives compound.

As this is a residential role, you will need to be located within a 60-minute drive of the mine site in Meandu, QLD. 

Core accountabilities include:

• Operating MPU vehicles and other associated blasting plant equipment on our customer sites
• Assisting with the escorting and unloading of deliveries into our explosive reloads
• Daily administration duties and interactions with our customers as required
• Attend toolbox discussions
• Regularly carry out workplace Take 5’s
• Demonstrate behaviour which contributes to a respectful and inclusive work environment
• A commitment to Zero Harm, safety and environment 

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

What you need

• Current HR licence preferred, but not essential
• QLD Security Clearance for handling explosives (or willing to obtain)
• Sound communication skills
• Previous experience in heavy vehicle industry or demanding environments
• Dangerous Goods licence preferred, but not essential 
• Current QLD Coal Board Medical (or willing to obtain)
• Standard 11 (or willing to obtain)
